The Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, and other dignitaries were at the reception to mark the 90th birthday of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, on Sunday. However, one photo that caught our interest from the event, was one between the Oyo state governor and popular OAP and gospel singer Yinka Ayefele. See below;
Ajimobi and Ayefele, who caused a stir on social media last week, after the former demolished the ‘music house’ of the latter, worth N800m. It looks like they have both made peace as the governor even promised the rebuild the demolished Music house.
Ajimobi made this promise during the event, as he revealed that ‘the imbroglio between the state government and Yinka Ayefele over the demolition of his Music House has been resolved.’ In his words;
“I thank God for the life of the Olubadan for clocking 90 years because he is my father. I pray that the ancient city of Ibadan will witness more development during his reign.” “I want to say that the imbroglio between the state government and Yinka Ayefele over the demolition of his Music House has been resolved. And I pledge the government’s commitment to assist him.
Also present at the event, were the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola; the Olugbo of Igbo, Oba Obateru Akirintan; and the Obanikoro of Lagos, who represented the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akinolu.
Governor Ajimobi, his wife, Florence Ajimobi; former governor of the state, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala; and former Senate Majority Leader, Teslim Folarin were not also left out.
One Twitter user with the handle, @kaybest__ said the photo should serve as a lesson to those whp fight themselves on social media over politicians and big shots.
