The Publicity Secretary of the Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Dayo Adeyeye has denied alleged meeting between the immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi over the forthcoming governorship election.
The social media have been agog since Wednesday suggesting that a meeting had taken place between the two wherein it was agreed that Fayemi would be pick the governorship ticket and that Adeyeye would run with him as his deputy.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media campaign organisation in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, Mr. Niyi Ojo, Adeyeye said the news was a figment of the writer’s imagination.
While describing the publication as libelous publication, Adeyeye added that “It shows the intellectual hollowness of the writer whose sole aim is to disparage and blackmail the two great Ekiti icons in national positions.”
“Adeyeye is a stalwart of PDP while Fayemi is a Minister of APC, where is the nexus of cooperation to run a joint ticket. Adeyeye never met Fayemi and they never plan to meet over their ambitions because they are two parallel lines.”
