Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has dismissed an online publication suggesting that he may likely dump his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for another party.

In a statement signed by his media aide, Mallam Imam Dalhatu Imam in Sokoto on Wednesday, the governor however stated in unwavering committed to the party, saying “I remain a committed member of the APC.”

“It has come to the knowledge of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of an existence of a fake quotation online attributed to him where he was said to have regretted his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The quote is fake and was manufactured by enemies of Nigeria with the intention of causing disharmony among people of good conscience who care about the development of the country.

“Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal remains a committed democrat and a committed member of the APC. Any impression created to the contrary is fake and should be treated as such. Fake News has no place in a democracy,” the statement reads.
