Though in Awka, the capital of Anambra state, the compliance was not total, but Banks, Markets and schools were all closed to adhere to the order.

At the state secretariat in Awka, civil servants were seen going and coming out of their offices without work, despite an order by the state government to discipline any one that failed to go to the office.
The commercial city of Onitsha was like a ghost land, while at Nnewi, the home of the late Biafran-war lord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the compliance was partial.
The spiritual leader of (MASSOB), Ndubuisi Igwekani, told reporters yesterday in Awka, that he came to monitor activities in the state with their men on ground, describing it as a success.
Igwekani, popularly known as (Agu-Biafra), said MASSOB, IPOB and BIM leaders would be called to a round table to come and explain their programmes towards achieving Biafra.
He lamented that so many of their members had been killed before now, while others were still languishing in detention, adding that selfishness among the Biafran agitators had derailed the progress of Biafra.

Igwekani, said Ohaneze Ndigbo (caucus) would meet on Friday where a lot of issues concerning Biafra would be discussed, adding that the emergence of Chief Nnia Nwodo as the Ohaneze president had given Ndigbo a new platform to rise again.

He said MASSOB would participate in anything that would bring glory to Ndigbo, lamenting that Uwazurike and Madu had not helped the cause of Biafra, because of their interests.
According to him, “Nobody can mess up MASSOB because it is an institution. I have come to unify the entire groups, the Biafran family must be one, what they are doing now will not bring credibility to MASSOB” Igwekani said.
From the head bridge in Onitsha to the streets in the commercial city, traders stayed away from their shops while transportation was difficult for those who wanted to go out.
The Onitsha Owerri express way, the Asaba Onitsha expressway and the Onitsha Enugu express way were all ghost of themselves.
Security agents in their patrol vehicles, particularly, the Nigerian Police, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, were seen patrolling round the streets of Onitsha and Nnewi.
The Army was seen at the usual check points at the entry into Onitsha and exit to Asaba, of Niger Bridge Head, while Police from Fegge Division were drafted to the Bridge Head by the Divisional Police Officer Mr. Rabiu Garba, to give helping hand.
Navy Officials were equally seen at the usual check point at Atani road Junction Onitsha, mounting their guard.
Inside Onitsha, the, the popular roads and streets, as Awka road, Upper New Market road, Old Market and New Market roads, Oguta road, Old Enugu road, Kirk road, Modebe road, Onitsha Nsugbe and Onitsha  Nkwelle Ezunaka roads, were all deserted.
The leader of MASSOB, Uchenna Madu, described the sit-at-home order as a huge success, attributing to the divine intervention.
He said the 50th ceremony was to commemorate the declaration of Biafra by late Ojukwu, adding that it was a honour being given to him by Ndigbo.
“The honour and pride goes to the people of Biafra. The success achieved today is not a selfish pride for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu led IPOB or Comrade Uchenna Madu led MASSOB or any other group, it is an honour of the people of Biafra, it is an honour of the gallant and eloquent soldiers of Biafra and civilians that bravely laid down their lives for establishment of Republic of Biafra”
“It is an honour for Biafra school children, an honour to commercial cyclists, tricycles, buses and other vehicle operators, it is an honour to the cooperate firms/establishments that complied with the sit at home exercise”.
“The huge success is an express evidence that the coming Biafra referendum shall be a walk over against Nigeria state. The success is also a direct confirmation that lights and darkness can never walk together”
“The huge success has further differentiated the acceptability and unacceptability of Ralph Uwazuruike led Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) and Nnamdi Kanu led IPOB/ Uchenna Madu led MASSOB”
The leader of MASSOB pledged his consistent and unshakable loyalty to the people of Biafra with a vow that any day he betrayed Biafra’s actualization and restoration struggle, that he would die.
