The Nigerian Senate has confirmed President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominees for the two vacant ministerial positions in his cabinet.
The nominees confirmed during Wednesday’s plenary are Professor Stephen Nkani Ocheni (Kogi State) and Mr. Suleiman Zana Hassan (Gombe State).
Ocheni is replacing James Ocholi, former Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, who died in a road crash.
While Hassan is the replacement for Amina Mohammed, former minister of Environment, who is currently the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations.
The confirmation could be seen as a sign of improvement in the relationship between the executive and legislative arms of Government.
