Court remands six in Ibadan for killing army colonel

A Magistrate Court sitting in Ibadan has ordered that all the six murder suspects accused of killing the Commandant of the Command Secondary School, Apata, Ibadan , Col. Anthony Okeyim be remanded at the Agodi Prisons, Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

The suspects ; Solomon Agada Emmanuel (20), Bibisoye Kehinde a.k.a. Efrebor (27), Taiwo Adeniyi (34), Ewere Andrew (25), Ephraim Obi (38) , and Udobata Onusa-Uze a.k.a. Kaka (28) were arraigned on a three count charge ranging from robbery, murder and theft.

Though, the court did not take the plea of the suspects, Magistrate R. A. Ebeloku Mustapha ordered that the three count charge be read out to them.

The prosecutor, Inspector Fatola Musiliu told the court that the suspects had on the 11 December, last year at about 10pm did conspire among themselves to commit felony an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 324 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol.II Laws of Oyo state of Nigeria 2000.

Magistrate Mustapha had after the six suspects listened to the three count charge, ordered that the suspects be remanded at the Agodi Prisons, Ibadan pending when the legal advice be given by the Directorate of Public Prosecution(DPP) at the state Ministry of Justice.

The case was later adjourned to March 28, 2017 for mention.

The six suspects were two paraded before newsmen by the authorities of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Odogbo, Ibadan .
