Al-Makura gives plots of land, cash to Federation Cup finalists

Nasarawa State governor, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has offered plots of land and N10 million cash to management and players of Nasarawa United Football Club for reaching the Federation Cup Finals for the first time.

He announced the donation in Lafia yesterday at a brief ceremony held in honour of the team for their exploits in the 2016 Federation Cup competition which they lost to FC IfeanyiUbah in the finals via penalty shootout.

Al-Makura said though the team failed to lift the trophy, they did not disappoint their supporters and the state government because they fought hard till the end only losing via the penalty spot.
He revealed that his administration’s corporate support to the team includes payment of all outstanding dues for both players and officials, adding that he was ready to break the banks in support of the team which has grown steadily over the years.
