The peoples democratic party (pdp) in ondo state has vowed to challenge at the appeal court, a ruling by Justice Okon Abang of the federal high court in abuja that inec should recognize Jimoh Ibrahim as the pdp candidate for the ondo governorship election. The party in a statement sent to Blackface News this evening by its publicity secretary, Banji Okunomo called on teeming members and supporters to disregard the purported judgment and expressed confidence the ruling it described as baseless would be quashed by the appeal court.
The statement explained that the supreme court has made it clear that it is only a party’s national executive committee that could nominate the governorship candidate which was the case of mr eyitayo jegede an as such, no high court can invalidate or alter this position.

Okunomo emphasized that Jimoh Ibrahim is not a member of the pdp at the ward, local government or state levels having openly defected to the accord party hence he cannot reap from where he did not sow by getting the mandate through the back door.

He said Eyitayo Jegede remains the party’s candidate for the election and that no back-door judgement can truncate this mandate.
