Alleged graft: EFCC declares Shema, ex-Katsina governor wanted

Men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have declared the immediate past governor of Katsina state, Alhaji Ibrahim Shema wanted over allegations of financial graft.

EFCC in a statement released by its Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, said, “The former governor is wanted in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, inflation of contract, abuse of office, diversion of funds, and embezzlement running into billions of naira.”

The statement further read, “The former governor ignored several invitations by the commission since December 1, 2015 when he was first summoned by the agency.”
