The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured the conviction of Emmanuel Markus Anga and Atin Victor Generous before Justice Abubakar Jauro of Gombe State High Court on two count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence.

Justice Jauro convicted and sentenced the convicts to seven years imprisonment on count one (conspiracy), the sentence are to run-concurrently.

The court also convicted and sentence Generous to another seven years in count two (obtaining by false pretence), the sentence are to commence on 11th July, 2016.

Anga who claimed to be a pastor and Generous were alleged to have in November 2013, deceived one David Madison, into believing that they were employees of foreign exchange business, Gora Commanding Resources, which they claimed belonged to Philemon Gora, who is still at large.

Madison was lured into believing that his investment of N500,000 would yield him ten per cent interest as returns on a monthly basis.

He however discovered later that the ten per cent on his capital reflected on his account only in the first month of his investment but all the effort to recover his money proved abortive.

While delivering his judgment, Justice Jauro, ordered Generous to repay the  N500,000 to the victim.
