Army dislodge insurgents from Borno village

Troops attached to the 155 Task Force Battalion operating in Borno State have dislodged a cell of the insurgent sect, Boko Haram from Kircha Dungus village in Borno State.A statement issued by the Acting Director of Army Information, Colonel Sani Usman on Thursday stated that during raid on the area by the troops, four members of the group were killed.

Sani however added in the statement that few other members fled leaving behind four women and a child.

This is coming just as the Army has alerted the nation to the new tactics being employed by members of the sect to evade surveillance by drones and aircrafts.

According to the Nigerian Army, members now hide in makeshift camps covered with shrubs.

“Similarly, troops of 7 Division Strike Group Team B, attached to 21 Brigade have braved harsh climatic conditions to also clear 7 villages of Boko Haram terrorists presence north east of Kumshe village.

“The villages are; Mulfuta, Baibawa, Jenere, Bembem, Maksamari, Bula Kafie and Bula Bodi. During the advance to Jenere, the troops encountered some Boko Haram terrorists elements that engaged the
troops in fierce battle.

The troops were able to kill 2 terrorists, wounded several others and continued with their patrol to Jenere-Hausari.
