FG begins environmental clean-up of Ogoniland

The Federal Government (FG) has officially commenced the clean up of Ogoniland in Rivers State with the formal flag off of the projected expected to last 25 years.

Speaking on behalf of his boss at the event that took place on Thursday, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo lamented the destruction to lives and environmental degradation caused by oil spillage by prospecting firms in the Niger Delta region of the country.

Those present at the event include, the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi; his Environment  counterpart, Hajia Aminat Mohammed; those of Information; Budget and National Planning counterpart, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and Senator Udo Udoma.

Governor Nyesom Wike, his Imo State counterpart, Owelle Rochas were among others present.
