Kwara varsity gets 23 first class graduates at convocation

About 23 students of the Kwara State University, Malete will on Saturday be awarded first class certificate during the convocation ceremonies of the school. 

They are expected to join the other 1,099 others who are expected to graduate from the school. 

Vice- Chancellor of KWASU, Prof. AbdulRasheed Na’Allah stated this during a pre-convocation press conference that took place at the campus of the institution in Malete, Moro Local Government on Tuesday. 

According to Na’Allah, the management of the institution was excited over the number of students that bagged first class degrees this session. 

“We have 23 first class graduates. This is over 100 percent of what we had last year. This is an exceptional performance and it shows that our students and staff are committed to academic excellence,” he said. 

He said the university has strengthened its entrepreneurship and undergraduate research units in line with its mission of producing employment creators and not job seekers.

“In the next one year, we will be planning a journal for undergraduate researchers to share our ideas with the whole World.

“KWASU is also developing a solar farm to produce electricity for our library 24 hours.”

On the economic challenge facing the nation, Na’Allah said Nigerian universities must urgently device means of diversifying the nation’s economy.
