FEC honours Maitama Sule, holds a minutes silence for late nationalist

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday observed one minute silence in honour of the orator, elder-statesman, distinguished diplomat and the Danmasinin Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule, who passed away  on Monday.

Maitama Sule, who was one-time Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Federal Minister in the First Republic, had died in Egypt.

As soon as the FEC completed rendition of the National anthem and opening prayers on Wednesday, one minute silence was observed in honour of the deceased.FEC honours Maitama Sule, holds a minutes silence for late nationalist

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, who had on Monday expressed condolences over the demise in a press statement, also disclosed that a Federal Government delegation led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, and many cabinet members, witnessed the deceased’s burial on Tuesday
