Lekki is a big city in Lagos State, South West, Nigeria. It is naturally formed peninsula, adjoining to its west Victoria Island and Ikoyi districts of Lagos, with the Atlantic Ocean to its south, Lagos Lagoon to the north, and Lekki Lagoon to its east; However, the city’s southeast which ends at around the western edge of Refuge Island, adjoins the eastern part of Ibeju.
This city is known as a rich man city where big/billion houses are built, and even the Nigerian actors/actresses, footballers, politicians, musicians, entertainers and economic bourgeoisies have either bought houses or rented choice apartments worth about 6 billion.
However, today, Blackface News is reporting that flood has been taking over the billionaire city.
The recent heavy rain fall in Lagos has caused most of the streets in Lekki to be heavily flooded, houses submerged and waterlogged so much that the rich started running to the Mainland area which is seen as “poor man’s area for coverage.
Below are pictures of the natural tragedy that had bedeviled the highbrow area of Lekki in the past three weeks.
