Ekweremadu Alleges EFCC Of Plot To Incriminate Him

The Deputy President of the senate Ike Ekweremadu has alleged that a cabal in the Presidency is using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC to remove him from office and destroy his political career.

Senator Ekweremadu, who raised the point of order at plenary yesterday, said he was informed of the plot by a whistle blower within the EFCC and when he read a letter which he said was written to him by an anonymous Nigerian who was part of the plot.

Based on the letter, he said the plot was meant to be executed on May 6 and 7 and included a search on a building in Enugu which the EFCC  claimed to be his own, having initially planted some incriminating items, foreign currencies and other  arms in the building.

He also alleged that he would be arrested and detained pending the outcome of the investigations, as part of plans to frustrate any political ambitions in future elections.
