Sule Lamido Remand In Prison for Disturbance Of Public Peace

THE Dutse Magistrate II in Jigawa state remanded the former Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido till May 4, 2017 to rule over his bail application submitted by his counsel.
 
The immediate passed governor of Jigawa state was dragged before the magistrate court on four count charge where he (Lamido) pleaded not guilty of all the charges.

The charges which was read to the ex-governor contained in the First Information Report (FIR) are Inciting disturbance, criminal deformation, criminal intimidation and disturbance of public peace crater which is contrary sections 113, 114 and 117 of the final code. 

Haven denied all the charges the counsel to the accuse person, Mr Felix Jones Osimerha applied the bail of the accuse person as said all the charges are ordinary bailable.
 
 
Mr Felix Jones Osimerha said “the accuse person stayed in detention for beyond constitutional 24 hours. Your lordship the accuse person was invited by the police Zone 1 on 28 of April, asked him to reports on 30th of April. The accuse person honored the invitation and reported as requested. He was since then detained till this morning when he brought to thi honorable court”
 
 
The depending counsel assured the court the accuse would not temper the investigation, evidence and would not jump bail considering his status as years governor service the state and his law abiding attitude.
 
 
The prosecution counsel Mr. Ekenna Egnatus objected the bail application said the accuse person is a public figure who has large sympathizers his release may be a security threat to the state and people in the state “considering the charges in the FIR”.
 
 
The presiding judge Magistrate Usman Muhammed Lamin adjoined the case to 4th May to rule on the bail application.
 
Magistrate Lamin said “the both parties submitted their reasons for and against the bail supported by so many sections of the law. I hereby adjourn the case till 4th for ruling. The accuse person should be remanded in prison”.
