Ex-Ondo Speaker, Olabimtan celebrate 60th birthday with Orphans, less-privileged

A former speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Adekanye Olabimtan on Saturday celebrated his 60th birthday with the less privileged mainly the handicapped, orphans, blinds, deaf and special education students at Correctional Home, along Ondo road, Akure, the state capital.

The Supare-Akoko born trained teacher, community leader, philanthropist and compassionate humanitarian turned politician said he deemed it fit to celebrate his 6oth birthday with the downtrodden despite offers from his friends and associates to organize a big bash in his honour because he grew up as a topmost subjugated and downtrodden character that went to school barefooted.

Olabimtan who was the Director General of the Akeredolu Campaign Platform for November 26th 2016 Governorship election in Ondo State said he would have lived a wasted life if not for the uncommon mercy, grace and favour he got from God that made him triumphed against the tangles of life.
He thanked his late parents, wife, children, siblings, former colleagues in the teaching service, political associates and supporters across the state for their care, support, prayers and encouragement which according to him, have been motivational, inspirational and rousing.
The Sexagenarian was accompanied to the less privileged home by Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, Secretary to the Government of Ondo State, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Engr. Ade Adetimehin.

Others were Olabimtan’s wife, Deaconess Aina, his children, siblings, several government functionaries, political associates and numerous well-wishers some of who gate-crashed at the venue of the event.

In his message of goodwill, the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu described Olabimatan as a patriotic Nigerian and lover of the commoners whose life deserves to be modelled by the younger generation.
“On behalf of the Akeredolu’s clan, i say expressly that we are lucky to have someone as nice, honest, sincere and reliable as Victor. He deserve all of the happiness in the world times two. I wish him more wisdom, knowledge and understanding and the grace to live in good health till the end.” Akeredolu said.

The Deputy Governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi who donated cash gift, food and drinks to the orphanage home alongside Olabimtan described the celebrant as his leader, mentor and dependable ally who doesn’t tell lie nor betray his benefactors.

A special thanksgiving had earlier taken place at
