South East APC gives APGA quit notice in Anambra, Assembles political war-lords for Governorship election

Ahead of the November 18, 2017 Governorship election in Anambra State, All Progressive Congress (APC) South East leadership, has given the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) leadership quit notice in the state.

In a communiqué  issued at the meeting that lasted over six hours Tuesday night, (APC) had Assembled former Governors in the South East State to lead the battle in Anambra.

It was signed by the national Vice Chairman in the South East, Hon. Emma Eneukwu and released by the zonal publicity secretary Hon. Hycienth Ngwu and made available to reporters yesterday in Awka.
 
The South East APC meeting was hosted in Alor, the community of senator Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment.
 
Members of the gubernatorial election planning and strategy committee headed by former Governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo included, Sen. Emma Agboti from Ebonyi as secretary.
 
Others were former Governor of Abia State Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, as Vice Chairman, Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume (Imo State), Sen. Nkechi Wogu (Abia State), Chief Madugba Cosmas (Abia State) and Chief Gbazueagu Nweke Gbazueagu (Enugu State) who contested Governorship seat in the old Anambra State
 
According to the communiqué, “We the Igbos are now truly and fully prepared to play the mainstream politics expected of us in the country. Anambra State November 18th 2017, Governorship Election is our entry point. And we hereby serve a quit notice to opposition party in Anambra State”
 
“The primary election to select the Governorship candidate for All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State will follow the due process as enshrined in our APC Constitution and Modalities for primary elections. We hereby urge all aspirants to play by the rules”
 
 
Their terms of reference included to monitor the political environment in Anambra State as regards the 2017 Governorship election and report to the zone.
 
 
Also, to evaluate the aspirants in (APC) and advice the zone on how best to achieve crisis free primaries and to advice the zone on best ways and means of raising resources for the election.
 
Earlier in his address, the national Vice Chairman, South East, Hon. Emma Eneukwu, said the time for (APC) to take over the zone was now starting with the Anambra election.
 
He said “yes, this is one election, where we must show the nation, that the Igbos are now truly and fully prepared to play the mainstream politics expected of us in the country”.
 
“Anambra state is the south East’s industrial and business hub. It is a state where every right thinking Igbo person strongly believes cannot play the leading role required of it to open up the South East economy from the opposition”
 
“Notwithstanding the alliance of the present administration in the state with the past Federal Government, the state failed to actualize the needed economic revolution in the south East, because of the flawed alliance” Eneukwu said.
