Christians Commemorate The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ

Victoria Hanson
The day which Christians set aside to commemorate the dead and the resurrection of Jesus Christ is known as Easter.
Christians believe, according to the scripture that Jesus Christ came back to life or was raised from the dead, three days after giving his life on the cross.
As part of the Easter Season, the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion is commemorated on Good Friday.
Through his death, burial and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thus purchasing for all who believe in him eternal life in christ Jesus.
On Sunday 16th April 2017, Christians from all denominations went out enmasse to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Senior Pastor of The Royal Harvest Assembly,Lagos Benn Itua, who read his message from book the  of Genesis 12:1- 2, preached on the theme ”Abundance Of Life”.Pastor Itua said that the reason they were alive was because Christ lived his life in abundance in favour of mankind.
He explained that God made it clear to Abraham that he would blessed him but he would be a blessing to his generation.
” Whosoever lived a life in favour of his/herself is a life short change, not fullness of life.
Abundance of life must in one way or the other impact other people around you” he noted.
In order to acquire the grace of living life in abundance for others, the cleric pointed out that one must first of all accept God as personal Lord and Saviour, must give his / her life to the word of God, must release his / her life to be baptize by the Holy Ghost and learn by him and also strive to discover the purpose of God in their life.
He therefore admonished people to allow their life to bring forth fruits by being a blessing to others as Christ had already toed the path.
The Vice President ,Yemi Osinbajo also charged Nigerians to always show love to one another irrespective of religious, tribe or political differences.
He gave the charge while speaking with State House correspondents shortly after the Easter Sunday Service at the Aso Villa Chapel, Abuja.
He said his message to Nigerians is that of love. “It is a message of love of Jesus Christ to all mankind. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever that believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
“It is a message for love for all. There is no tribe, no religion; regardless of faith, Jesus loves us. This is how we should relate with ourselves. It is a pure love and I think that is what everyone should bear in mind at this time,” he said.

The President, Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN)Mr. Samson Ayokunke while wishing Nigerians a happy Easter Celebration said that it is a season of hope, joy and restoration. He prayed that the Lord that rolled away the stone from the mouth of the tomb to put the enemy to shame would roll away all causes of economic hardship from the nation in the name of Jesus Christ.
He also gave the assurance that the power of resurrection of Jesus Christ will end the menace of corruption and stabilize the economy out of recession.
