LAGOS ASSEMBLY PASSES ENVIRONMENTAL LAW 2017

Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have passed a Bill for a law to provide for the management, protection and sustainable development of the environment in Lagos State.

The Bill is to consolidate all laws relating to the environment and was given accelerated passage after the House adopted the recommendations of the House Committee on the Environment by the Chairman, Hon. Oludayo-Saka Fafunmi as its resolution.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa after cross examining each section of the Bill directed the Ag. Clerk, Mr. Azeez Sanni to extend a clean copy of the bill to the Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode for his assent.
        Meanwhile, the Speaker commended his colleagues for their prompt response for the success of the Bill.
        The House however adjourns till 28th of March, 2017.
