NFF moves to switch Everton’s Lookman Ademola over to Nigeria

Everton new boy Ademola Lookman will reportedly be spoken to regarding his availability for the Nigerian national football team.
Lookman scored on his debut for the Blues last weekend in the 4-1 thrashing of Manchester City.
But his rise to fame has not gone unnoticed and he could be in line for talks with the Nigerian Football Federation over a potential international career with the African nation.
Although the 19-year-old was born in Wandsworth, London, his parents are both Nigerian, which qualifies him to play for the country.
The former Charlton Athletic winger has represented England at U19s and U20s level, but remains eligible to switch allegiances as he is yet to represent the senior side.
Nigeria Football Federation official Bitrus Bewarang has suggested he will look into the case with a view to sounding out the player’s thoughts on representing the Super Eagles.
Bewarang told the BBC: “He has Nigerian parents and we’d need to speak to him first. I saw him against Manchester City and I was excited to see a young player of Nigerian descent shine, so I thought ‘why not?’
“It is the duty of the national coach to invite players to the national team, but we will help him check Lookman’s eligibilty.”
