Sunshine beat 3SC 1-0 in South-West derby

Sunshine Stars FC of Akure on Wednesday won the South-West derby against 3SC of Ibadan in a Match Day 2 fixture of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The match played at the Ondo State Sports Complex saw Sunshine Stars defeat their visitors 1-0, courtesy of Sunday Oluwadare’s goal in the 78th minute.
Kayode Olujohungbe, Technical Adviser of Sunshine Stars told a post-match news conference that the team would aspire to secure a continental ticket at the end of the season.
Olujoungbe added that Sunshine Stars currently possessed the crop of players he was happy with.
Fatai Amoo, the 3SC Technical Adviser, said he was happy with his team’s performance, adding that that Sunshine Stars deserved the win, noting that his team didn’t take their chances.
Sunshine Stars will play Plateau United FC in the Match Day 3 of the season.
