Press Briefing with Lagos State Commissioner of Police

The Commissioner of police Fatai Owoseni in a press briefing on Thursday assured the public of the commitment of the police to reduce crime in Lagos state to be free from crime.He also confirmed that Justice will be done in the case of Sowore Omoyele. He equally used the medium to urge journalist to always confirm truth from the police and appropriate authority before spreading rumours on social media.

He said “in as much as you want to sympathise with your colleagues its important and appropriate to disseminate the right information”.

According to the commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni, he implored Sowore to desist from using the social media to blackmail the police or anyone because the stories he posted on Facebook are all false and that nothing of such ever happened.

The police paraded Suspects at the Lagos state Area command. Hameed Gombe and Nura who had bandage on his left hand are suspect accused of stealing bags of rice. Nura claimed the rice was given to them by a driver who absconded suddenly.

Eighty seven (87) illegal immigrants were arrested at Badagary along Seme border. Compore Musa 19, who spoke on behalf of the illegal immigrants, said they thought they were heading to Garbon to hustle for ends meet. When asked if all of them are from the same country, Musa said they met at the border of Benin Republic.

 

The illegal immigrants are from Burkinafaso, Benin Republic, Togo and Niger Republic.

 

Benjamin another suspect was arrested for impersonation, he was caught parading himself as a Brigadier wearing Nigeria Army uniform. He also confessed to stealing and robbing people. Part of his evil antics is inter-state robbery, and robbing bike riders on duty.
