Oyo State Government is set to inaugurate the first 10,000 metric tonnes automated silo in the country in the next six months.
The Governor, Sen Abiola Ajimobi disclosed this on Tuesday during the inspection of the ongoing construction of the Oyo State Integrated Silo Complex located in Awe road, Oyo town.
Ajimobi said:”I am very impressed on the ongoing project despite the paucity of fund. This is the first of its kind automated silo in Nigeria with 10,000 metric tonnes.
“It’s the first fully automated silo in Nigeria. It is sited here because of Owode largest grain market in the South, followed by Kafancha. Also it is important because of its value chain”
Ajimobi who noted that it will create 50,000 employment, said it will also fortify the grain market.
“It will ensure an effective and efficient management. It can save our grains for 10 years. It will be completed hopefully in the next six months.
Similarly while inspecting the ongoing construction of Atiba Fm Radio station, the governor said:” My mission is to take care of every section of the state.
“We have different thing we have done in other parts of the state and this is part of our promises to take care of every section of the state. This will also be completed soonest. “
