Troops rescue one Chibok schoolgirl, arrest insurgents

Troops attached to Operation LAFIYA DOLE have arrested scores of insurgents just as they have also rescued one of the missing Chibok schoolgirls.
A statement issued by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Sani Usman on Thursday stated that the missing girl was discovered during investigation of arrested suspected Boko Haram terrorists.
General Usman however gave the name of the discovered Chibok school girl as Rakiya Abubkar, saying she was recovered alongside her six months old baby.
He added that according to preliminary investigation, it was discovered that the girl is the daughter of one Abubakar Gali Mulima and Habiba Abubakar of Chibok.
“She further stated that she was a student of Senior Secondary School Class 3B (SS 3B), before her abduction along with her colleagues on 14th April 2014 by the Boko Haram terrorists.
“Rakiya Abubakar is presently undergoing further medical investigation and would soon be released to the Borno State Government.”
