PDP youths beg ex-governor Lamido to contest 2019 presidential poll

Youths who are members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Jigawa State have stormed Bamaina, the country home of former Governor Sule Lamido to beg him to contest the 2019 presidential election.

Drawn from all the 27 local government areas of the state, the youths gathered in the former governor’s personal residence where they waited for hours chanting song begging him to accept their calls and aspired for the office of the president in 2019.

Chairman of the group, Comrade Kabiru Nura Yankwashi said they took the decision after having been fully convinced of Lamido’s leadership qualities and concern for the common man.

He explained that “The idea came when we looked back while Baba Lamido was governor and seen how he transformed Jigawa state and impacted the our (youth) lives in all sectors we feels it as a duty to reciprocate of what he did to the youth, general public and the state”.

According to him the forum have a structure from the state level down to poling units all over the state, “We have 36 coordinators in each of about 3,000, 270 wards and 27 local government areas and all agreed to for the move of Lamido for president 2019”.

The former governor who was forced out and received the youth thanked them for their support, saying, “The issue of whether to contest for any position and who to be what is not what we should concern ourselves with now. It is the time to struggle for the reorganising and reuniting the party (PDP)”.

“Let’s have the flats form first and resolves all contending issues, and we at the top level doing our best. This is a good indication that you also given you own contribution for journey ahead”.
