Lagos PR industry held Gala & Awards night

The Nigeria institute of Public Relation, Lagos state chapter held its Gala and Award night on Wednesday December 21 2016 at the Civic Centre victoria island, Lagos with the theme “Celebrating Comms professional”.

   Established  in 1963, Nigeria institute of public relation [NIPR] the professional  body of qualified public relation practitioners, attained  charter status in 1990 with decree 16 the federal public of Nigeria. The NIPR promotes and develop the art and science of public relations practice in Nigeria. Conduct research, collect and disseminate information on all aspects of public relation and encourage a more relevant institute and more reputation sensitive society, by working with appropriate association to generate sustained focus on the contribution of state holder in different sectors.
    The Lagos PR industry Gala and Awards [LaPRIGA]  was a prestigious event that  recognized excellence in public relation practice in Nigeria marketing communication space. La PRIGA is part of effort to market the practice and deepen stakeholder’s  appreciation, understanding and deployment of public relation tolls in business and governance.
     Highlight of the evening was the presentation of LaPRIGA awards to some corporate bodies and individuals whose extraordinary acts of giving, sharing and loving have made a demonstrable difference in host communication or in the lives of special persons and to encourage more invest in the practice.
    The executive council of the NIPR  flagged-off its advocacy project aimed at increasing awareness, acceptance, respect and support for people living with autism spectrum disorder  [ASD] ; a neurodevelopmental disorder marked by impaired social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication and restricted and repetitive behavior in kids.Twenty percent of the net proceeds from La PRIGA event would be donated to practice speech and language Centre.
  Amongst those present at the occassion were the chairman, Lagos state chapter NIPR  Mr. Olusegun  McMedal, President  and Chairman of council Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Dr. Rotimi  Oladele PHD,  Nigeria institute of public relations, speaker  Lagos state house of assembly RT Hon Mudashiru  Obasa, Mr Mike Okereke amongst other dignitaries.
