The Majority Leader of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has met community leaders in his Surulere 1 constituency of Lagos.
At the meeting with leaders of the various community development committees held in Lagos on Thursday, the lawmaker donated two ambulances and scholarships to some indigent students of the area.
Present at the event apart from members of CDC are chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as well as the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Central Business District, Hon. Agboola Dabiri who is a member of the constituency.
Addressing his hosts in the event which was organised as part of end of the year activities, Gbajabiamila stated that the occasion was put together as a means to obtain what he termed realtime information of the needs of the people of the area.
According to him, it was also put together to help him render account of his stewardship in the lower chambers to the people at the grassroots.
After series of interactive session with the constituents, Gbajabiamila who appreciated the community leaders for their continued support over the years announced series of project he has lined up for them.
“I have listened to your requests regarding the amenities that you need in your communities and I have taken notes. What I will just ask you to do is be patient as all these amenities will go round. I want to use this opportunity to thank you very much for your continued support.
“Today, I am pleased to inform you that I have purchase two additional ambulances that are fully equipped for the use of our general hospitals and health centres in this area. I am also please to announce to you that I am ready and willing to sponsor some pupils on one year scholarship.” He said.
He ended his speech by assuring that he scale up his community borehole assistance projects across the constituency as a means of ameliorating the acute water shortage problem in the area.
