Eagles drop one spot to finish 51 spot in FIFA ranking

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped one spot in the new monthly FIFA ranking released on Thursday by the world’s football governing body.
The ranking being the last one for 2016 revealed that the team remain in the top 10 of the most in-form teams on the continent.
The three-time African Champions were initially tied on points with Burkina Faso in the previous form assessment of national teams posted in November by the world governing body.
Thursday’s announcement places them on 51 spot after a barren period for the Super Eagles, who have not played any competitive match since the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Uyo.
The latest ranking shows that Nigeria maintained its top 10 status, holding firm to number eight position in Africa.
