Miss Chioma Obiadi Stephanie Wins Miss Nigeria 2016

Chioma Obiade Stephanie has been crowned Miss Nigeria 2016, winning the top prize in the 40th edition of the beauty pageant held in Eko Hotel Lagos.
Stephanie, who is from Anambra State is an undergraduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Department of Geology.
The 19th year old queen took over from Miss Leesi Pamela Peter.  contestants from the 37 states in Nigeria were fully represented.
Delivering her speech, the outgoing queen, Miss Leesi Peter said that she took over the crown as a young girl with numerous dreams, indecisiveness and a vision which was not quite clear.
Peter disclosed that serving as Miss Nigeria 2015 had moulded her into a refined young woman with a clear vision.
The experience, she said was challenging, beautiful and overwhelming, even as she stressed that she is hoping to explore her potentials in order to achieve greater heights.
She therefore congratulated the new queen and also wished her a smooth running and beautiful reign filled with positive growth and amazing experiences.
Miss Nigeria beauty pageant had been organised by the Daily Times since 1957,with Tinuke Oyelude as the maiden queen.
According to the organizers, this project is the only national pageant in Nigeria which is channel to form a major part of Nigeria’s heritage showcasing beauty and the Nigerian women.
The 40th edition marked a major milestone for this pageant and efforts have been made to enrich the platform.
Miss Nigeria has evolved to become a sustainable and consistent platform that would continue to be of great values to partners and the participating women at large.
The organisers reassured that this project would continue to be a shinning beacon of true Nigerian womanhood by representing her country on international platforms as a goodwill ambassador.
”Going forward from 2017, Miss Nigeria and its runner ups will represent Nigeria in two international pageants with a purpose. It is our vision to make Miss Nigeria the foremost empowerment platform for young womanhood beyond beats” they added.
Among those who graced the occasion were the former  Governor of Ogun State,  Chief Olusegun Osoba, the maiden miss Nigeria Miss Oyelude and other dignitaries.
