Sani opposes FG’s ban of importation of vehicles via land borders

By Wahab Akanji, Abuja

The member representing Kaduna Central District in the Senate, Shehu Sani, has expressed his opposition to the decision of the Federal Government to ban the importation of vehicles through land borders.

Reacting to the ban in a post on his official Facebook page, Sani, who is also president of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria, a human rights organisation based in Kaduna, stated that the decision was irrational and illogical.

The Kaduna senator said he would demand for the reversal of the ban when the issue is tabled before the senate.

He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to reverse the ban in the meantime.

“I stand opposed to the banning of Importation of Vehicles through the Land Borders. The decision was irrational and illogical.

“I will surely demand for its reversal when the issue is tabled before the senate. In the meantime I’ll call on President Muhammadu Buhari to reverse it. My reasons will be made open on the floor of the Senate,” he said.
