Buhari finally gives go ahead for daughter’s marriage

By Our Correspondent
President Muhammadu Buhari has finally given his go ahead for the consummation of the wedding between his daughter, Zahra and son of a Maiduguri based businessman, Ahmed Indimi.
The new date is now December 16 and that it will formally take place despite the president’s initial opoosition to the plan, which sources said was based on the undue publicity the event generated in the media.
The date for the nuptials had been widely publicised as December 2, 2016, until the President stepped in and asked the ceremony to be moved to a later date.
President had prefered a low-key celebration but was to take an exception to the fact that he did not like the attention being drawn to the ceremony.
Another issue that is said to have angered the President is the widely reported news that the groom’s family presented Zahra with 30 expensive Louis Vuitton bags.
A new invitation card which has now surfaced gives reason to believe that a new wedding date has been fixed December 16, 2016.
“H.E Haj Aisha M Buhari cordially invites you to the wedding Fatiha of her daughter Zahra Buhari and Ahmed Indimi which will take place on December 16th while the Kamu will take place in Abuja. Details of the events will be communicated to you,” reads the words of the invite.
