Cross River governor, Ayade set to dump PDP for APC

By Our Correspondent
Barring any change in plans and calculations, Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade is expected to dump the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sources close to the governor told BLACKFACE that the decision might not be unconnected to an accord reached between the governor and the top hierarchy of the APC.
One of the sources who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonimity stated that the decision had been taken long ago and that the governor was only looking at the most auspicious time to actualise it.
“Now is the best time for (Governor) Ayade to make the move now that the PDP seems to be in disarray over the vexed chairmanship issue that has defied any form of solution. Apart from that, the governor will take the action ahead of the impending judment of the Supreme Court on his status.” The source told BLACKFACE.
The source added that the governor has enjoyed some form of cosy relationship with the Presidency since he came to power last year and that the he (the governor) needs to assure the President that he is sync with him by crossing over.”
On when the move is expected to take place, the source stated that, “Expect the move to take place anytime from now as all the necessary details have been finalised between the two parties.”
Ayade is one of the five governors elected on the platform of the PDP in last year’s general election last year in the South South region of the country.
