In his words, Akeredolu said: “I want to assure the good people of Akoko land that my government shall be fair to the progressive people of this area. Akoko is known for progressivism, intellectualism and forthrightness.
“I want to assure you Akoko people that if i am voted into power, the death traps calls roads that litter the towns and villages here shall be given a religious attention. All the abandoned infrastructures shall be fixed.
“A vote for me shall be a vote for responsive, accountable and transparent governance. Today, the entire towns in Akoko are in blackout. There has been no power supply in most of the towns in Akoko for the past 21 months.
“This wicked, reckless and heart-breaking injustice against the people of Akoko is regrettable. I want to assure you that we will look into this infringement on your right to social life if you vote for me”, he vows.
Also speaking during the event, Olabimtan appealed to Akoko people to embrace Akeredolu as one of them, stressing that a rejection of Akeredolu who hail from Owo in the Northern senatorial district with Akoko shall be counter-productive in nearest future.
Responding, Oba Adetifa urged Akeredolu not to forget his promises to the people of the area. The monarch also advised Akeredolu to continue to make his campaign an issue based.
He prayed to God to grant Akeredolu his heart desire.
