Tragedy averted as Emenike, Fenerbahce teammates escape plane crash

By Femi Adefioye, Lagos

A former Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Emenike and his Fenerbache teammates escaped plane crash on Tuesday.

The team was on a scheduled trip to Manchester on Tuesday ahead of tomorrow’s Europa League game against Manchester United when the pilot of the plane was forced to make an emergency landing because a bird shattered the windscreen.

In its bid to douse tension occasioned by the incidence, the management of the Turkish football giants however announced that there was “nothing alarming” about the incident.

The pilot had to make an emergency landing in Budapest where a second plane was then sent from Istanbul to pick the team up from the Hungarian capital and continue the journey to Manchester.
