Katsina Agency Accuses ex-governor Shema’s Govt. of Allegedly Misappropriating N14.2bn

The Katsina Road Maintenance Agency (KASROMA).has said that the immediate past administration allegedly misappropriated the agency’s N14.2 billion
The KASROMA’s Managing-Director, Alhaji Abdulaziz Mohammed, made this known when he presented a memo before the Katsina State Judicial Commission of Inquiry on Wednesday.
Mohammed said that when he assumed duty one year ago, he discovered that N14.2 billion in the agency’s account had either been stolen, diverted or missing.
He said that he had relevant details to substantiate his claim before the commission.
After presenting the memo, the counsel to the commission, Mr Hassan Liman, (SAN), urged the commission to adjourn the sitting for proper hearing.
The Chairman of the commission, Justice Muhammad Surajo, adjourned the sitting to Oct. 26 for hearing.
The state government mandated the commission to investigate funds allegedly misappropriated during the ex-governor Ibrahim Shema’s tenure
It is mandated to investigate alleged misappropriation of over N10 billion Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme fund and diversion of N11 billion from the Local Government Joint Account to ALGON account by some officials of the previous administration.
