Two formidable parties in the offing, says Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has predicted the alignment and re-alignment of politicians before the end of 2017 to pave way for the establishment of two strong political parties in the country.

He observed that the present two leading parties, All Progressives (APC)and Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) are not vibrant enough to perform the role of ruling and opposition parties respectively.
 
Obasanjo spoke at his Presidential Hill top House, Abeokuta while playing host to the delegation of Ondo state Chapter of the Accord Party(A) led by its Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), Rev Adebayo Adeniyi.
 
The elder statesman who observed that Accord Party gubernatorial Candidate in Ondo state,Mr Ola Amuda has a brighter political future,urged the seasoned technocrat and former Special Assistant(SA)to late Olusegun Agagu to strive hard and make positive impact during the November 26 poll in the state.
 
A statement by the Ola Amuda Campaign Organisation (OACO,said the former President charged the candidate to hold his supporters and party members firmly as basis upon the future consolidation of political parties.
 
The Party BoT Chairman, Adeniyi informed Obasanjo that the Accord Party had been waxing stronger since its formation.
 
According to him, Accord has become a strong voice in the political settings in Ondo state, which had led to the emergence of Amuda as its governorship candidate for the coming election.
 
Adeniyi hailed the former President for the goodwill he demonstrated towards the Accord party and its delegation from Ondo state, who came to tap from his fountain of knowledge as an elder statesman.
 
The Accord flag bearer sought the support of Obasanjo to the party and its supporters to make difference in the sunshine state.
