Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the result of Wednesday’s governorship election, describing it as “predetermined.”The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Godwin Obaseki, was declared winner and returned elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday.

According to the result announced by the Returning Officer, Prof. Kayode Soremekun, Obaseki secured a total of 319,483 votes, ‎while Ize-Iyamu polled 253,173, losing by 66,310 votes.
But the PDP candidate said the result of the election held across the 18 local government areas of the state did not reflect what was collated by party agents and independent observers.

He also alleged that there were irregularities during the exercise, adding that the plan was orchestrated to ensure that the PDP lost the election.
