Ambode’s 114 roads, participatory democracy in action – APC-V LAGOS
A group within the All Progressive Congress (APC), the All Progressive Congress-Volunteers (APC-V LAGOS) has applauded the governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode over the commissioning of 114roads in the state, describing it as the peak of participatory democracy.
In a statement issued in Lagos and signed by then Chairman and Secretary of the group, Hon Anthony Ajewole and Gbinigie Solomon respectively, the group stated that never in the history of governance did a single government constructed and commissioned 114 roads simultaneously, describing it has first of its kind.
The statement added that when the governor announced in May after his inauguration that 2 new roads per each of the 57 local governments and local council development areas, the doubting Thomases said it wa not achievable but with the completion and commissioning of the roads, the government has not only silenced detractors but also convinced Lagosians that they have truly voted for a government of their own.
The APC-V LAGOS is proud to be associated with the present administration in the state and will continue to provide the necessary support towards delivering more purposeful dividends of democracy to the people.
The group enjoined residents of the respective roads to take ownership of the infrastructure and ensure that it is properly managed and maintained.
“We want to appeal to our people to take ownership of these facilities and ensue they are properly taken care of, it was down with tax payers money and tax payers must take proper care of it”, the ground added.
if that should be the case, i must book and pay for everything i still need to pay for tomorrow. the lady in charge of mobilization does not want a repeat of what happen last time so she want to collect part-payment a day before the programme.
