Ondo 2016: Olusola Oke Defects to Action Alliance

By Maxwell Adeleye

One of the aggrieved aspirants that contested the September 3rd governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Chief Olusola Oke has dumped the party for a relatively unknown Action Alliance (AA).

The Ilaje born politician told his associates today at a stakeholders meeting held at his residence in Ijapo Estate, Akure, the state capital of his intention to dump the party for AA for the Nov 26 governorship election billed in the state.

Oke and some of his major backers are expected to address a press conference later today to make the official announcement.

Report says efforts are already on top gear to set up the party’s structure in the 203 wards in the state.

The news of Oke’s defection according to our correspondent in Akure was greeted by a palpable fear by the supporters of the APC in the state.

Oke had filed a petition against the victory of Rotimi Akeredolu, the winner of APC primaries before an appeal Committee constituted by the National Working Committee of the party over the September 3rd Governorship primaries which was dismissed yesterday.

Two other aspirants, Senator Robert Ajayi Borofice and Dr. Olusegun Abraham also filed petition against the victory of Akeredolu.
