Robbers attack Super Eagles’ defender’s Jos home

By Samuel Gabkwet, Jos
Suspected armed robbers numbering about four on Monday attacked the
Jos home of Super Eagles’ midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, carting away
valuables including a vehicle, Toyota Highlander and cash.
During the operation, the suspected robbers also physically assaulted
the midfielder’s father but his condition is yet to be ascertained as

Commenting on the incidence to newsmen from his base overseas, Onazi
said the bandits arrived the home and pretended to be courier men who
had come to deliver a letter to his father.
“Those robbers came and pretended they were there to deliver a letter
to my dad at about 1:40pm on Monday. As soon as he collected their
fake letter and asked where it was coming from, they swooped on him,
tied his hands, beat him up and inflicted machete cuts on him in the
process,” the Super Eagles midfielder told africanFootball.com from
his base in Turkey.
“They told him this is the first in a series of attacks that they will
launch on our house and that I will be their next target.”
