Osun APC to PDP: ‘Go for spiritual deliverance for your woes’

By Akeeb Alarape, Osogbo

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the rival Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to seek spiritual help to be able to overcome its impending doom.

The APC in a statement it issued on Wednesday in Osogbo while reacting to a newspaper report credited to a factional chairman of the state PDP, Soji Adagunodo, in which he alleged that the new mega school which President Mohammadu Buhari commissioned last week in Osogbo was designed to extort the people of the state.

According to the factional chairman of the PDP, Governor Rauf Aregbesola did not inform President Muhammadu Buhari of the commercial nature of the school that had allegedly been priced beyond the people’s reach.

Responding, APC said that not only was the PDP’s allegation fabricated, ‘it doesn’t have the fragment of truth in it, and it will appear to have been the product of a sick mind’, the APC claimed.

In a statement signed Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, APC Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, the party was emphatic that ‘the Osogbo Government High School commissioned by President Buhari ‘is to provide quality education to students like the other such schools which the Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola-led government has built in the six years of the ACN/APC government.

The APC attributed the false statement by the PDP to a fear syndrome bothering on intense frustration which was giving the leadership jitters as Aregbesola continued to perform excellently, in spite of the economic downturn which has badly affected the country.

According to the APC, ‘the last six years in the life of the state of Osun have been monumental, and the legacy in human, economic and social development which Gov. Aregbesola has achieved will continue to be celebrated well into the next quarter of a century’, the APC boasted.

‘We challenge the PDP to point to any legacy project it achieved in the 16 catastrophic years it ruled Nigeria between 1999 and 2015’, the APC said, adding that the PDP ought to know that a party which has failed like itself should hide its face in shame.
