Some members under the banner of the Catholic Men Organisation has intensified efforts aimed at drawing support for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his running mate, Mr. Philip Shaibu.

They described the two candidates as worthy ambassadors in their chosen careers saying that the organisation has started mobilising its people across the eighteen local government areas of the state to support them ahead of Saturday’s poll.

At a grand reception organised in honour of Shaibu in Auchi by the Catholic Diocese of Auchi, members of the organization prayed and told them.

President of the organisation, Mr. Chris Ighodalo disclosed that the organisation decision to support the APC candidates was due to its constitutional provision to support any of its member seeking any elective position and the performance of Philip Shaibu when he was a member of the Edo State House of Assembly

” I am not a politician but We all have seen what Philip Shaibu did in terms of constituency projects while in the State House of Assembly and we know how Edo was before Oshiomhole came in, and see what he has done within the last seven years. So, we will support what he supports.”

Responding, the Deputy Governorship candidate said he was born into the Catholic family and as a dedicated and practicing Catholic whose wife’s brother is a Reverend father while his own younger brother will be ordained a Reverend father in October.

The former NANS president said the desire to better the lot of the common man has always been the motives behind all the motion he has moved both at State and at the National Assembly for which he is prepare to bring to bear in government when elected.
