Some members of the Ondo State Executive Committee (SEC) of the All progressives Congress (APC) have endorsed the chairmanship of the embattled chairman of the party, Hon Isaac Kekemeke.
At a news conference addressed by the State Secretary of the party, Mr Rotimi Rahman, members of the state exco dissociated themselves from the purported removal of Kekemeke by four of their colleagues over alleged endorsement and imposition of a governorship aspirant.
The APC leadership noted that the party remain one and focus on emerging victorious in the forthcoming governorship election in November 26 this year.
They urged the party delegates and members to work in line with party’s principles in the interest of peace and making Ondo state an APC govern state.
Eleven of the 15 SEC members and Zonal leadership of the party were in attendance at the meeting.
The 17 APC local government Chairmen have also passed vote of confidence on Kekemeke.
The Chairmen led by Mr Rasheed Badmus in a resolution signed by 15 of the seventeen Chairmen expressed their belief in Kekemeke’s leadership.
They promised to work in line with party’s directive in the conduct of the party’s primary election and for the party to emerge victorious in the November governorship election.
