Unknown people have placed various fetish objects including rituals, cutlasses and palm fronds at the entrance of the state party secretariat,Cathedral Area Akure, the state capital.
The secretariat had earlier been sealed off by aggrieved members of the party under the aegis of Movement Against Imposition (MAI) in protest against the alleged anti-party activities of its state chairman, Mr. Isaac Kekemeke.
Eye witnesses said the items were placed at the secretariat gate, while some were hanged around the premises in the midnight.
The development scared many members as it prevented them from gaining entry into the secretariat for various activities.
Many traders and other shop owners around the APC secretariat could not open their shops as a result of the development, even as residents of the area scampered when they got wind of the development.
Workers at the secretariat of the deserted the place for fear of being victims of the rituals, until some APC youth came to remove it after’ spiritual cleansing’
Commenting on the development, the Party’s Director of Media and Publicity, Steve Otaloro described the situation as unfortunate.
He however noted that the development might not be unconnected with the present crisis rocking the party, which according to him had been resolved in the interest of peace for the party.
Otaloro noted that the opposition members who were not comfortable with reconciliatory effort being achieved to forge ahead for the victory of the party on theNovember 26 poll.
He expressed optimism that the National Secretariat of the party was making frantic efforts to reconcile all warring factions within the Ondo APC ahead of saturdayprimary election.
Some members of the MAI linked the crisis on Ondo APC on Kekemeke, stressing that all organs of the party in the state including the youths wing, women wing and members of the National and State Assemblies have passed a vote of no confidence in him, yet he wants to remain in office.
They alleged that Kekemeke resolved to spiritual means to fighting the battle, having considered his present ordeal as the last battle of his life.
