By Tony Ehighiale, Benin City

Wife of the All Progressive Congress governorship candidate in Edo State, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, has appealed to her kinsmen from the Izon extraction to team up and support her husband.

She said any Izon indigene who voted against her husband on September 10 governorship election would be regarded as an enemy to the development of the Izon nation.

She stated that the Izon people as well as residents in riverine communities in the state were supposed to spear head the campaign for the APC to win the governorship election as one of them will become the first leader.

Mrs. Obaseki told the people that the Federal Ministry of Transport was in collaboration with the state to make the Gelele Sea port a major anchor point for ships to increase economic activities of the riverine dwellers in Edo State.

She appealed to them to trust her and not give their vote to the opposition parties which she noted are going around propagating lies and falsehood against her husband.

Zonal National Chairman of the Izon National Congress, Chief Robbinson Ogunkoru assured Mrs. Obaseki that the Izon Community would mobilize support to ensure that one of their own emerge as the first Lady of Edo State.
