IHF sends expert to Nigeria for one-week coaching programme

A coach, Mr. Nadeem Bhatti has been dispatched by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) to Nigeria for a one week training programme for Nigerian hockey coaches.Making the disclosure was the Secretary-General of the Nigeria Hockey Federation, Mr. Austine Balewa on Friday in Abuja.

Balewa stated that the training, designed for national coaches, would help develop the sports from the grassroots, adding that coaches that have attended level two coaching course would also take part in the training.

He said the training was part of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) solidarity exchange programme to develop and support sports in various countries.

He said Bhatti would also have a session with the national team in camp.

“The one week intensive training will re-position our coaches for the challenges ahead and help them be in tune with the new techniques of the game,’’ he said.
