No fewer than 10,000 poor women have taken over Onitsha , the commercial town in Anambra State to protest what they termed the anti-poor policies of Governor Willie Obiano-led government.

These women are protesting the severe hardship they are going through since Obiano came into power which saw their businesses closed through over taxation, double taxation.

They were also protesting against the activities of the revenue task force whom they accused of habitually clamping down on them.

They accused men of the taskforce of habitually assaulting them, seize their wares and in some cases destroy their shops.
