PDP pegs chairmanship form at N1m, floats convention panel

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) pegged the sum of N1b as amount to be paid by chairmanship aspirants.This is coming just as the party has also inaugurated both the National Convention Planning Committee as well as the Finance Committee at a meeting of the stakeholders of the party, which took place on Friday at Yar’Adua Center, Abuja.

Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi presided over the meeting that had in attendance many prominent members.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BOT, Senator Walid Jubril was also in attendance representing the BOT and The Senate Minority Whip, Senator Biodun Olujimi representing members of the PDP at the National Assembly.

While inaugurating the committees, Makarfi told members to remain focused and work together for the success of the forthcoming National Convention holding in Port Harcourt on the 17th of August, 2016.

He also encouraged Committee members to participate actively in the Sub-Committees to be constituted by the Main Planning Committee.

He reeled out the fees to be paid by members aspiring for various positions at the forthcoming National Convention.

According to him, aspirants for the post of deputy national chairman and those vying for the secretary of the party are to cough out N500,000 each while those jostling for other position would pay N300,000.
